　　BillBoard Top 100 網羅了年度歐美最流行、最受歡迎的100首金曲。曲目號碼也是依次為公告榜的名次。
　　“公告牌”排行榜是美國、乃至歐美國家流行樂壇最具權威的音樂排行榜。
　　“公告牌”音樂獎每年評選一次，每年獲獎者的成績是根據前年12月到當年11月，每一周排行榜的上榜情況總結出來的，而每一周的排行榜成績又是根據歌曲的銷量和播放率進行排列，因此，“公告牌”音樂獎也可以說是歐美流行樂壇最具權威的民選獎項。

【公告牌(告示牌)Billboard】

　　1894年11月1日，美國俄亥俄州辛辛那提市的一個小酒館裏，兩個專門為馬戲團、展覽會設計告示牌的年輕人威廉。H.唐納德森(William H.Donaldson)和詹姆士。F.亨寧漢(James F. Henningham)酒後興起，萌生了辦刊物的念頭，《公告牌》(Billboard)就這樣誕生了。不過那時，它還叫做“Billboard Advertising”，這份月刊隻有8頁，售價10美分，內容以州內大事、狂歡節日、娛樂演出為主。
　　1897年，雜誌更名為“The Billboard”，同時做出一係列調整。唐納德森買下了亨寧漢的股份、將月刊轉變為周刊、在紐約以及芝加哥設立辦公室。雜誌內容則逐步娛樂化：增添唱片界的新聞與廣告、電影介紹、歌曲評論、專欄專區等等。直到1913年，《公告牌》出現首份榜單“上周最暢銷的前十名流行歌曲”，成為第一本擁有排行榜的雜誌。
　　隨後的幾十年裏，《公告牌》又陸續開設了各式各樣的排行榜：各劇院上周所播放的流行歌曲排行榜、點唱機排行榜、流行歌曲銷量排行榜、電台最熱播歌曲排行榜、唱片銷量排行榜等等。這些排行榜中，精度不高、由唱片公司提供名單或所針對的傳播途徑影響不大的榜單大多停止。
　　上個世紀40年代，《公告牌》做出調整並重點推出點唱機最常播放歌曲榜、電台DJ最常播放歌曲榜、專輯銷量榜、單曲銷量榜等榜單，這些排行榜已與現今《公告牌》的榜單形式十分相似，而雜誌本身也成為專業性的流行音樂排行榜雜誌。1954年後，《公告牌》已經掌控了整個美國流行樂界，包括各類流行項目的榜單信息與名次的排行統計專業職權。1955年7月9日到8月27日，比爾·哈利的《晝夜搖滾》(Rock Around The Clock)蟬聯《公告牌》單曲銷量榜八周冠軍，宣告了搖滾樂時代的開始。
　　同年11月12日，《公告牌》推出首份綜合歌曲銷售及點唱機最常播放的排行榜Top 100，1958年8月4日，Top 100更名為Hot 100單曲榜，隨後將最佳銷量榜並入，單曲榜自此宣告統一，成為《公告牌》至今最有名的榜單。雖然成型用了3年時間，人們仍將它的誕生日定在1955年11月12日。
　　之後，《公告牌》一直穩步發展，稱霸美國樂壇，並不時改進推新：將名稱改為“Billboard”、出現封麵、改進統計方式、更名專輯榜為The Billboard 200等等，包括今年，《公告牌》還推出了Pop 100 單曲榜，與Hot 100 相比，它以top 40 主流電台播放率作為統計來源。
　　如此100多年，才有了這麽一張厚重、醒目、權威的“公告牌”。
