There is true dignity and respect between these two deeply knowledgeable and humble gentlemen, compassionate surgeon in how he really listens and cares about people. He is a humble, highly talented, spiritual, and caring man who speaks with humility and compassion. Straight to the Heart and Spirit !
His brilliant insights, like breathing and visualization before a complex surgery, can be applied in any profession or situation. Simply brilliant.
I have rituals before I go to work as a travel nurse. I want to be nurturing to my patients and also my coworkers. I pray ahead… I ask for help balancing what I’ll be asked to do… I ask for protection for my patients and that my patient load will be reasonable… I ask for humor when it’s appropriate… I ask that we all help each other. I arrive early and do prep work to set me up for success—gathering supplies and patient info ahead of time before I need it so that I have it if/when a crisis happens. 23 years and counting and so many coworkers from so many walks of life that I have been privileged to know and care about. He’s right—forethought and prep and the right mental state.

It is rare to find Doctors that are kind and compassionate. These days, they are dismissive and rude. This podcast is great reminder!
@wordswordswords8203 3 years ago Ever notice how really smart people don't overthink things? They simply grasp the essence of things, making them straightforward.
Even the most complex things can be broken down piece by piece until they are simple, and if they are not, just accept that they are unknowable at the present time and let it go. I think this man epitomizes that. I love genuinely intelligent people. It's like a breath of fresh air being around them.

It's so humbling to watch both doctors describe their experience and how involved they are with their patients. It's that spiritual connection that is very humbling and elevating.
