全世界每年有７０萬起心髒手術，其中有２５萬宗是VALVE SURGERIES。根據 The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS)的數據, the mortality rate for heart valve surgery is about 1.7%. It varies by operation. For isolated aortic valve replacement procedures the mortality rate is 2.5%. 我INTERVIEW Dr.J的時候曾問他，他的 mortality rate 是多少？他說２％。但他接著說，每個病人的情況不一樣，有的做的時候已經有各種個樣其它的疾病。而且不光是在手術台，很多其它環節都有可能出問題，如麻醉，術後感染等。
因此，象LG這樣手術前還很ACTIVE的，其它器官還很健康的，也預料不準他身體對手術的反應。
一方麵，我很想預測一下他手術的吉凶，一方麵，我又不敢預測，萬一很凶，我怎麽辦？對LG手術這件事，我一直不敢占卦。
後來，我翻風水易經的書看到這段（有些書我是隔段時間就看，反複看的）：
易經６４卦make up a system of philosophy based on the moral and mystical beliefs of the ancient Chinese, and it is wrong to expect to be provided with an actual "positive" or "negative" answer to any question. Indeed, it is essential for you to realize that you must draw on your own intuition to interpret the texts you are given - for they are, in truth, only intended as a guide to action......It directs the questioner's attention to alternatives and the probable consequences of our actions if we choose one path instead of another. If the oracle wishes to direct our action in a specific direction or through a particular channel, it will tell us how a Superior Man would conduct himself. In this subtle way, our actions are directed towards a positive goal while still allowing us the free will to choose our own ultimate destiny.
我看了這段文字後不怕了。Superior Man 就是易經卦詞裏的君子嘛。事情本身沒有好壞之分，全看我們怎樣按君子指的方向走。
於是，５月３日晚，我占了一卦。
