一個女子出門見到她房前的草地上坐著三個長須皚皚的老者。女子說:" 我跟你們素昧平生，但你們一定餓了。請進屋裏吃點東西吧”。
“你的先生在家嗎？”老者們問道。“他出門不在家。”女子答道。“那我們不能進屋”。老者們拒絕了女子的好意。
傍晚，先生外出歸來，女子告訴他三位老者的事。“去告訴他們我回來了，請他們進來吧”。女子來到外麵請老者們進屋。
“我們不同時進入一間屋子的。”老者們告訴她。 “為什麽呢？” 女子好奇地問道。 其中的一位老者指著他的兩位朋友之一道：“他叫財富”，然後指著另一位說，“他叫成功”， 最後指著自己說，“我叫愛心。” 接著，他對女子說：“進屋和你先生商量一下，你們想請我們中的哪一位進屋。”
女子進屋向先生轉述了老者的話。她的先生聞言大喜：“太好了，我們請財富進來吧！ 讓他把我們的房子裝滿錢財。”女子不同意：“我們請成功吧。”他們的兒媳正在屋子的另一角聽著他們的對話，此時插嘴：“請愛心豈不是更好？ 這樣我們家裏就充滿了愛。”“我們聽兒媳的吧，”先生對太太說，“去請愛心進來。”
女子來到屋外問三位老者：“你們中哪位是愛心？請您進屋來做我們的客人吧。”愛心起身朝著屋裏走去，另兩位老者緊隨其後。
女子驚訝地問成功和財富：“我隻邀請了愛心。你們兩位怎麽也要進屋呢？”
老者們齊聲答道：“如果你邀請了財富或成功中的一位，我們中的另兩位就都得留在屋外；但是你邀請了愛心--他的所到之處我們必定跟隨。有愛的地方，成功和財富形影相隨。”
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat." "Is the man of the house home?", they asked. "No", she replied. "He's out." "Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in" "We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she asked. One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!" "Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest." Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!"
