I have developed a habit of eating full, healthy breakfast since a few years back, hoping to slow down the speed of metabolism decrease as I am aging. This morning I had two medical tests and was required not to eat or drink four hours prior to the hospital visit. Therefore, I obligatorily skipped the breakfast, and the consequence was quite unexpected. I felt weak, tired and vaguely dizzy. My leg slightly trembled at the break pedal while I was waiting for the red traffic light to turn. I brought a book along to read in waiting time, but the weakness and feeling of hunger kept my focus away from the book. During the entire hospital visit I was thinking what I was going to have for lunch. A lesson has to be learned, that is, stuff myself at the dinner the day before if the similar event occurs in the future. Now I have had my big lunch and am off to work.
