大海 and 海邊

I tried to challenge Keke’s memory.

“ 你去過大海麽？ ”

“沒有。” Keke replied.

LP got surprised, since Keke told her before that she had been there.

Inspired by a sparkle of thought, I then asked, “ 你去過海邊麽？ ”

“去過”，“有你，有我，有媽媽。”。 She was 2 years and 10 months at that time.

Then I understood that Keke heard our talking with her grandparents in last summer around August about the seaside ( 海邊 ) trip. And she was confused the Chicago lake shore and the sea side, and also, she thought “ 大海 ” and “ 海邊 ” are two different things.

I further wanted to insure Keke understand my question,

asked again, “ 你哭了麽？ ”

Since Keke cried when she was in the Yacht on the Michigan Lake because of the strong wind. “ 我哭了 ” 。 Keke replied, “ 為什麽呀？ ” She asked me,

“ 因為風太大了。 ” I told her.

“ 你下水了麽？ ” I asked her again.

“ 沒有， 因為水太涼了 ” 。 Oah, Keke was confused again about the place when we were at the lake shore nearby in last August, since her mom did not want she to go into the water because of not warm.
