早晨上班的時候，聽NPR News，然後，就聽到了這個。
Health Care Overhaul Boosts Pelosi\'s Clout
上一周，8馬同學signed the health care bill into law。歡欣鼓舞之餘，8馬同學打掃舊戰場，審視新人類；指點江山，激揚文字，第一個被他拎出來，並遭到其熱情表揚的就是congresswoman Nancy Pelosi。
8馬同學gave a lot of the credit for passing the legislation to Nancy Pelosi，他說：
One of the best speakers the House of Representatives has ever had, Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
不同的人，對這個Healthcare overhaul bill，對Pelosi，可能都有不同的感想，或者，根本沒感想。這不是我想討論的話題，但是，當我饒有趣味地聽完了整段新聞，心裏倒是蠻感慨的。
在被人追問，對president calling her one of the most effective House speakers in history的感想的時候，Pelosi說：
I knew I came here to vote for health care for all Americans. That has been a pillar of who I am and who we are as Democrats, but I didn’t think I would be leading the way as Speaker of the House, that’s for sure. But let me give credit where it is due: the president of the United States. Without the leadership of President Obama, we would not where we are today.
Pelosi的這段話，可以分解成三層意思：
1． 我是一個高尚的人，有理想的人，脫離了低級趣味，為美國人民的終生福利而努力奮鬥的人；
2． 我是一個謙虛的人；
3． 就象要感謝人民感謝黨，放在這兒，人Pelosi說，光榮屬於Obama。
Nnd，我被感動了，我被Pelosi沒有一句廢話，沒有一個字多餘的表揚和自我表揚感動了。
聽完這一段，突發奇想：如果不是Pelosi，是Hillary，如果Hillary在Pelosi的位置，故事的結果會怎樣？Health care bill會通過嗎？她們的big boss又會怎樣樣評價？說到底，誰是大贏家？
這是一個沒有意義的假設，因為不可能，所以就有無限的可能。但是，我始終還是相信，性格決定命運。
