《蝸居》是作者六六繼《雙麵膠》之後又一部都市情感大作，並由騰華弢繼續坐鎮執導。由於先前《雙麵膠》成功的合作，使得兩個人在創作上更加信心十足，加之《蝸居》小說的暢銷，且講述了民眾關注度頗高的話題——房子，使得這部戲剛開機便得到觀眾的高度期待。編劇六六在評價新作時表示說：“如果說《雙麵膠》是初綻風采，那《蝸居》才是真正枝繁葉茂。”可見她對這部作品偏愛有加。導演騰華弢也是越拍越有感覺，認為《蝸居》將能更大程度上引起觀眾的共鳴，他在接受采訪時說：“故事好，題材新首先就吸引了觀眾的眼球，實力派的演員陣容則能更加演繹出作品的深層次含義，《蝸居》都具備這兩點，加上我和六六合作很有默契，相信觀眾在觀看作品的同時，更能體味人生的真諦。”

《蝸居》講述了在房價飆升的今天，人們對房子的渴望與無奈，立體呈現了現代人的人生百態。區別《雙麵膠》單一講述鷹隼大隊獨門小戶的婆媳關係，《蝸居》在情節及人物關係設置上更加豐富，也更多地融入了社會熱點話題。雖然本劇依舊在上海開機拍攝，但是卻突破了地域限製，表現了外來打工者、本地人、成功人士、家庭主婦等社會各階層的心態講述了每個人為自己心中的“蝸居”努力奮鬥過程中麵對的困惑與迷茫。

看點：

房價漲幅一直是大眾的焦點話題，《蝸居》從人們對房子的渴望說起，講述了姐們兩個在金錢、物質的麵前所表現出的不同價值觀以及她們在大都市中生存的辛酸成長經曆。該劇在7月27日上海電視台播出後，僅用四天便創下收視曆史新高，又恰逢近日全國各城市迎來新一輪的地產漲價風潮，《蝸居》涉及的熱點題材強烈地引發了大眾的共鳴。

此外，平實的故事、普通百姓生活的真實再現，更是緊緊抓住了觀眾的心。一位姓張的資深發行專業人士稱，《蝸居》的走紅，不僅僅在於它選取的題材，更重要的是它如實地反映出現實生活中人們的內心狀態。“有的電視劇為了好看，設計了許多矛盾衝突，甚至一些莫名其妙的巧合，而《蝸居》的創作恰恰摒棄了這些，細膩地撲捉到一個外鄉人在大城市求生的各種細節，柴米油鹽瑣碎日子中的平淡，我們每個人身邊都有這樣的朋友，觀眾看到的不是海萍、海藻(劇中人物)，而是我們身邊真實存在的朋友搬上了熒幕，所以《蝸居》才會在網絡論壇引發大討論。”

《蝸居》在電視劇類中成為人氣最高的論壇熱貼之一，大家對劇中人物的評論都帶著明顯的愛恨情感色彩，甚至還拿一些社會公眾人物對號入座。對此，編劇六六解釋說，她在劇中並沒有暗指諷刺誰。“如果說誰是劇中原型，可以說誰都有可能。海萍對房子的渴望，海藻對愛情的背叛，宋思明的矛盾，小貝的失戀痛心，我們每個人可能都會經曆過這樣的情感糾葛，看著看著你可能就會想，宋思明像誰誰，海藻又怎樣怎樣，其實觀眾有這樣的想法我挺高興，說明我寫的成功，人們認為真實。”
