鮑伯馬利在14歲離鄉背井，前往京斯頓追逐音樂夢想，這位才氣縱橫的歌手在1962年錄下生平第一首歌曲；1972年，鮑伯馬利與他的樂團The Wailers在倫敦過著困頓的生活，這一年，隨著他與Island唱片公司簽約之後，瞬間揚名國際，將雷鬼音樂推向主流音樂舞台，他許多描寫牙買加人民貧窮生活真貌與精神的作品日後也成了音樂地球村的國歌；鮑伯馬利在1981年5月11日辭世，享年36歲。從1992年至今，他的全球專輯銷售超過5000萬張，其中，『Legend』專輯以1000萬張獲頒美國唱片工會的鑽石唱片銷售認證，2001年追贈葛萊美終身成就獎，他的臉書湧入3796萬名樂迷按讚。

《鮑伯馬利：一個愛》是一部2024年傳記音樂劇電影，由雷納爾多.格林 (Reinaldo Marcus Green) 執導，根據雷鬼歌手兼詞曲作家鮑伯馬利的一生改編。訴說馬利從貧民區力爭上遊，躋身為流行樂壇的偉大人物，再到他於生涯顛峰時英年早逝的故事。

《鮑伯馬利：一個愛》（電影原聲帶）是2024年電影的原聲帶，於2024年2月9日透過Tuff Gong International和Island Records發行。它收錄了電影中的17首曲目，其中包括鮑伯·馬利和The Wailers。大部分歌曲取自《Catch a Fire》（1973）、《Burnin'》（1973）、《Rastaman Vibration》（1976）、《Exodus》（1977）、《Kaya》（1978）和《Uprising》（1980） 。這張專輯進一步收錄了樂團的舞台表演，並在多白金認證合輯《Legend》（1984）中發行。金斯利·本·阿迪爾 (Kingsley Ben-Adir) 作為歌手和吉他手為馬利 (Marley) 角色演唱了所有歌曲，最終剪輯與電影的檔案錄音融為一體。

克裏斯.鮑爾斯(Kris Bowers) 繼《怪獸與人類》(2018年)、《理查王》(2021年) 和電視迷你影集《我們擁有這座城市》(2022年) 後，第四次與雷納爾多.格林 (Reinaldo Marcus Green) 合作為該電影創作配樂。鮑爾斯從一開始就參與其中，格林在前期製作過程中讓他參與，以便他可以繪製作品和編曲草圖。馬利的音樂被用作電影配樂的基礎，格林希望它是有機的，但也讓某些時刻充滿情感。鮑爾斯在沒有使用現代聲音技術的情況下錄製和專輯混音，以便可以相應地聽到和體驗每種樂器。
