The new Disney.Pixar COCO film tells the story of Miguel, a 12-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a consecrated musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz, despite the ban on music that reigns in his family. As the director of the movie Lee Unkrich says ... "COCO carries the music in his DNA". Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the impressive and colorful Land of the Dead as a result of a mysterious chain of events. On the way, he meets the charming con man Hector, and together they embark on an extraordinary journey to uncover the true reason behind Miguel's family history.

La Banda Sonora is from the composer and winner of an Oscar award for UP: AN ADVENTURE OF HEIGHT, Michael Giacchino and presents original songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Germaine Franco and co-director and screenwriter Adrian Molina. It also features songs inspired by COCO, played by Mexican artists such as Karol Sevilla (star of the TV series Soy Luna), Jorge Blanco, Bronco and La Santa Cecilia and Carlos Rivera also plays the main theme "Remind me" for the credits end of the movie dubbed into Spanish.

Franco and the musical adviser Camilo Lara, from the musical project Instituto Mexicano del Sonido, were invited to help give life to the musical environment surrounding Miguel; with the collaboration of culture advisors Benjamín Juárez Echenque and Marcela Davison Avilés. Lara joined the music team from the beginning, and helped the filmmakers to explore the broad spectrum of Mexican music: from cumbia to mariachi music.
