　　100首優雅曼妙、華麗動人的芭蕾名曲　一次感受百分百的芭蕾風情
　　芭蕾發源於文藝複興時期的義大利宮廷，而「芭蕾」這個字來自法文，改自義大利的「BALLETTO」一字，在義大利文中，原意隻是指小型的舞稻，同一個字源在拉丁文中也指舞蹈。最早在十五世紀的芭蕾，其實是把劍術舞蹈化而成的，但到了十七世紀法皇路易十四的宮廷中，發展成一種正式的舞蹈。1850年代以後，法國芭蕾被帶到俄國和丹麥去，然後到了二十世紀又將在俄國發展出來的芭蕾新風格帶回到西方。由戴亞基列夫所帶領的俄國芭蕾舞團是將俄國芭蕾引介到西方的重要關鍵，他也委託了許多作曲家為他的舞團創作，直接催生許多二十世紀重要的作品，像是拉威爾的「波麗露舞曲」、「達芬尼與克羅埃」、史特拉汶斯基的「春之祭」、「彼得洛希卡」以及「火鳥」等等。從戴亞基列夫的舞團中訓練出來的巴蘭欽和尼金斯基，又將俄國芭蕾舞的傳統帶到美國，他們將古典芭蕾進一步發展成新古典芭蕾，不再穿尖頭鞋，手部動作和全身姿勢也都放開自由的多。從這裏又催生了瑪莎．葛蘭姆等人的現代芭蕾，包括崔拉．莎普等，許多在美國的作曲家像柯普蘭、伯恩斯坦，就為這種新式芭蕾寫了許多知名的作品，像是「阿帕拉契之春」等名作。當然，許多傳統不是為芭蕾譜寫的音樂，也被這些編舞家使用來當作芭蕾的配樂，像蕭邦的「仙子」、柴可夫斯基的鋼琴協奏曲和交響曲、艾爾加的「謎語變奏曲」、法朗克的交響變奏曲，都意外地出現在芭蕾舞台上。
