愛爾蘭民謠，原是一個世紀前，一位愛爾蘭父親寫給即將從軍的兒子，告訴他說，當你下次回來的時候，我大概已經躺在墳裏，就像整個夏天的過去，花朵的凋零，就像你現在要走，也不能挽留。後來，作者又加上第四段，才使得這首歌由父子間的決別，變成了好似情人的分手。這個版本的中文歌詞也很感人也更加富有詩意。
