我們有孩子之前的最後一次旅行就是去的Vegas和大峽穀,這次要帶爺爺奶奶和兩個小的去，就想路線稍稍不同。考慮到老人孩子，我們的行李也比較多，旅館最好不要頻繁地更換。最好在一個旅館住上兩個晚上以上。在世界風情和寶壇谘詢後，我定下了以下旅行路線。第一天不多走路，第二三天以後就會累一點，玩累了再去Vegas腐敗。希望爺爺奶奶覺得旅遊漸入佳境，一天比一天好。我們的計劃都可以改變，奶奶身體不好，如果吃不消，我們 第二天可以玩得輕鬆一點，所以住的地方都不是荒郊野外，至少兩天才換個地方，如果累了，都可以回去睡個午覺。
星期六：飛到LV，租車，找個地方吃午飯，下午4個小時開到flagstaff住下。
星期日：開車1小時到Sedona,很美，機場邊上的路是一定要去的，風景很好。晚上回flagstaff住宿。
星期一：Walnut Canyon, 路過Sunset Cater National Monument，Wupaki NationalMonument，下午到Grand Canyon。從東門進，在desert view看日落。從南門出，在Grand Canyon Village住下
星期二: 玩Grand Canyon South Rim，晚上回同一個旅館住下。
星期三：早上向LV出發，路過Hoover Dam，下午到LV，接下來每天住Paris
星期四：south strip：Mandalay Bay（外麵有個小花園可以走走）, Luxor, MGM(lion Habitat,有小獅子）, NYNY， Bellagio（大廳，巧克力瀑布，玻璃天花板）
星期五：mid strip: Hollywood planet（中午12點以後有噴泉）, City Center（音樂會）, Caesars Palace（Animated Gods),
星期六: north strip: Flamingo（花園，Flamingo), Venetian(剛朵拉，唱歌，歌劇表演）, Wynn（stroller不讓進）, Mirage(五點開始有火山表演）
星期日：回家
訂旅館
跟以往不同，我這次是先訂的旅館，再訂的飛機。我們用expedia,priceline訂旅館比較多。我們上次去Vegas,住在south point,雖然也是一家四星級酒店，但是不在strip上，不太方便。
考 慮到我們這次要在Vegas住四晚，我們這次就想在mid strip上找一家四星級以上的旅館，最好是Bellagio,Paris,或者Venetian。在priceline上看了一下，Bellagio和 Venetian價位都很高，基本上一個房間至少200多，我們要兩個房間，四個晚上，這筆開銷還是很大的。
Paris好一點，大約100左右，我們上次在Paris吃過buffet，對其印象不錯，就初步定在Paris了。然後我去Paris的網站上看了一眼，他們有rate by calendar,我一看，12月13-19這周的旅館最便宜，隻要60塊。再去Priceline上去核查一下，果然是這個價錢。我又嚐試了一下bid,50塊bid 不到四星級以上的酒店，我們也不是很想住Hilton之類的酒店，所以就定下來Paris, 12/15-12/19。
訂機票
可以用tripadvisor.com和yapta.com，kayak.com 跟蹤機票價格。我個人更喜歡tripadvisor多一點。輸入起始城市和Email以後，就可以跟蹤多個航空公司的票價了，通過Email的鏈接，可以 查閱多個月份的票價，如果你的行程日子沒有確定的話，可以用這個email服務，跟蹤一段時間以後，你對票價的走勢就有一個大致的了解了。我的感覺是一般 在出發日一個半到兩個月前機票比較便宜。如果你願意坐午夜的航班的話，票價有可能便宜一半。我們家有老有小，這種錢還是無法省的。
但 是tripadvisor和yapta是不跟蹤southwest和jetblue的，所以你要去的是大城市的話，應該也要去這些網站上看看。缺點是，你 每天都要盯一下，比較花時間。southwest有個好處是每個乘客可以免費托運2件行李，要是人多，行李多，這個就能省不少錢。我們這次出去玩就托運了 4件行李+2個carseat，如果是其他收費的航空公司，每次的托運費至少要100多。大部分航空公司對carseat都是免費托運的，如果你沒有很多 行李，但是有一些液體無法放入隨身行李通過安檢，可以放在carseat的行李袋裏免費托運掉。
Southwest服務很好，比UA,AA nice多了。看到我們帶著孩子，就讓我們排一條短很多的check in line。
飛機上的snack品種多，而且可以拿多種，我們就要了所有的品種，一共四種，味道都不錯，小孩吃著玩，時間過得比較快。位子之間的leg room好像也稍微寬敞一點。
飛機上的位子先到先得，可能有些人不喜歡。我們鑽了這個空子，因為孩子小，雖然我們的是Group C的票子，但是Ｇｒｏｕｐ Ａ完了以後，就讓我們上了。機上還有好幾排沒有人占的位子。所以，我們四張票占了５個前後的位子。如果沒有滿員的話，我們可以 拿到６個位子，就更舒服一 點了。如果是其他公司，我們如果能多拿位子的話，至少是無法坐在一起的。所以，如果坐sw,要早點登機，最後登機的話，位子就很差。如果孩子大了，我想我會先找兩排相鄰的位子先安定下來，最好找那種一排是窗口位子被占，一排是過道位子被占的那種。等大家都坐好了，然後再和同排的人商量換位子。我想，既然他／她單身出行，應該不會很介意換到相鄰的一排，他／她的窗口或過道位子不變。
SW在小機場，security check要快一些，他們讓我們走wheel chair通道，所以基本上沒有等，到gate的距離也短，少走很多路。機場小，乘客也少一些，就不感覺很stressful。機場parking
通常機場的parking都是比較貴的，我們一般找機場附近 的旅館，他們提供free shuttle，泊車費比機場便宜很多，如果是淩晨的飛機，還可以考慮提前一晚入住旅館，有些旅館對入住客人免費泊車2個星期，折下來旅館費隻要二三十塊錢甚至免費，但是方便很多。如果停在機場，除非停30元/天的，如果是economic parking的話，從parking lot到機場大廳也要30分鍾，所以也不省時間。在旅館lobby裏等，還有暖氣，水。
Vegas deals
當 你checkin的時候，給前台一點小費，她們可以給你upgrade room。我給了２０刀小費以後，明顯感到前台的態度不同，拿到了可以看到Bellagio 噴泉和埃菲爾鐵塔的有connector的兩間客房。估計要是沒有小費的話，就隻能看到停車場了，當然，如果double小費的話，我們說不定可以拿到更 高樓層的，或者upgrade到suite了。嗬嗬。據說，如果前台無法給你好房間，或者upgrade，他們會把小費退回來，所以，risk free!
我們這次旅行學到的另一個trick是，如果你定兩個房間，就要當中有connector的，這樣，你們不用進 出客房的門就可以穿梭在兩個房間之間了，相當於定了一個suite。對於一大家子，尤其有小孩子一起出遊的，真是方便太多了。可樂兩個在兩個房間之間竄來 竄去，別提有多高興了！
Vegas大的賭場都有很好的buffet，對於家有小孩的，這種就餐方式可能是最合適的了。這些 buffet從早餐開到晚上10點，當中是不清場的，所以你如果趕在午餐的尾巴去的話，就可以花午餐的價錢吃到晚餐的好東東。比如，Bellagio的午 餐到4點結束，我們是3：40進去的，一人$19.99，等我們坐好，吃完幾片煙熏三文魚以後，晚餐就開始上了。如果我們4點進去，就要$29.99了。 在3：30到4點之間，在門口都排起了隊，4點以後又沒有了，看來，趕這個deal的人還不少！嗬嗬
去之前做了一些research，Vegas還是有很多deal的，我們很想嚐試的是一個buffet deal，Harrah's旗下的幾家賭場都參加的，http://www.harrahs.com/buffets/index.html。 我們因為奶奶不習慣吃西餐，沒有買這個deal. 我們晚飯除了一次是在Bellagio吃的以外，其他都去Chinatown吃了，不是那個雕梁畫棟的Chinatown，還要再往西1-2mile的地 方，是當地人吃的，我們很喜歡那家豐恒(Cathy's House)，環境不錯，東西也好吃。

我們還帶了電壓鍋，米，榨菜和方便麵。每天早上，如果旅館沒有早飯的話，我們就自己煮粥喝，或者煮一下前一天從中餐館打包的東西。奶奶的胃不好，吃不慣西餐，對於她來說，這個電壓鍋是最值得帶的東西。
我們還買了National Park Annual Pass, 80刀。我們這次去的地方就要65塊，我們明年應該還會去至少一個national park,能值回票價的。

附3： Vegas Tips on tipping
Tips on tipping: Because Vegas is a service-based city, tipping is a big, big deal. Just ask the IRS. You may not be sure how much to tip and when, so here's a quick rundown.
- Bellmen: They usually receive $1 a bag, but an extra tip is suggested if you ask them to make show reservations or if they help you with taxis, etc.
- Cigarette Girls: About $1 to $2 is sufficient, depending on how much you buy and how many times you want her to return.
- Concierge: If the concierge helps you arrange show tickets, tours, hair appointments or anything else, it is customary to leave a tip. It's up to the customer, but anywhere from $2 to $20 is graciously accepted.
- Front desk clerks: If you're looking for a room upgrade, tipping the front desk clerk can get you a better room. We leave it up to your discretion, but we've heard everything from $10 to $50.
- Valet parking attendants: We suggest $1 to $2 for valet parking attendants when you drop off and pick up. If you want them to leave the car up front, be prepared to tip higher, anywhere between $10 to $30 depending upon how busy it is.
- Taxi drivers: These folks drive like mad to get you where you're going, they help you with your bags, and provide a little chit-chat along the way. About 15 percent of your total fare should make up for their efforts.
- Dealers: Tipping a dealer is a little trickier. You can give the dealer a tip in between hands or spins, and this tip can range from $1 to as much as you want to give. You also can wait until the end of your session and tip the dealer then.
- Keno and bingo runners: $1 every few rounds is acceptable and suggested even if you aren't winning.
- Cocktail waitresses: About $1 to $2 per round is sufficient for a small group (two to three people). Increase it for larger groups. Don't fail to tip, even if your drinks are comped.
- Food servers: Unless your bill indicates that a gratuity has been included (typically this only applies to groups of six or more), tip your food server 15 to 20 percent depending on the quality of their service. Drop a buck or two at the buffet as well.
- Room service: Yeah, we know. The food is already outrageously priced. But don't hold that against the people who have to lug your breakfast back and forth from the kitchen to your hotel room. Go with the standard 15 to 20 percent of the bill, unless the bill indicates a tip has already been added.
- Change person: Don't forget to slip a few bucks to these helpful folks -- especially if you win. Don't try to palm off a $5 tip for a Megabucks win; it's insulting.
- Slot supervisors: They fix bill jams and fill the hopper, allowing you to collect your jackpot -- could it hurt to tip a buck or two?
- Pool attendants: Slip the hottie dishing out towels a dollar or two between dips in the pool.
- Maids: We'd recommend $1 to $2 a day for the maid service in your hotel room. After all, you couldn't pay us enough to clean up after you.
