This is the book a friend recommended to us to teach kids phonics. The author is Sidney Ledson. The author mentioned two rules several times. One is that read from left to right. The other one is read out every sound unit in the word.

The first 100 words part has 32 steps. ( 15 letter sounds and more than a hundred words)
