沒空就不要看下麵的破文, 早上在等小孩球賽用ipad 打的稿。沒時間翻成中文了。 總之, 我從來沒在美國排過這麽長的隊,也算一種新體念吧。 Last week I suddenly decided to go to new york to attend the blockbuster exhibit Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty。The renowned, controversial designer committed suicide in February 2010, and the exhibit went up May 2011. It was very unusual for MET. Because it ended in two days, I did expect a long wait but once the taxi approached the main entrance, i was stunned by the four layers of people and the guard told us that the wait would be more than 3 hours, even the no-wait privilege a member once had was revoked. I predicated the last day would be a lot worse (I was right as the wait went to 6 hours) so I dashed into the line under rain. It was a painful process due to the heat caused by too many fashion enthusiasts in the halls and soreness from long standing on our foot. But when I finally entered the exhibit hall and I was astonished by McQueen\'s imagination, skills in tailoring and visual impact. It was first time seen real couture as clothing been entirely hand sewn. His dresses are more sculptural than strictly fashion, some of his clothes are neither fashion nor art but a previously unseen hybrid of both. At that moment I felt it was totally worth the wait. It was quite an experience that I would not forget for a long time. photography was not allowed, so i found some photos from web. |
