佳佳的鋼琴老師Mary

佳佳因為搬家的關係，也因為媽媽比較挑剔，換了不少鋼琴老師。有一個鋼琴老師很特別。是個美國人嫁給一個蘇聯人。媽媽當時選她是因為覺得蘇聯老師太嚴格，但特別有樂感。美國老師太鬆，但知道怎麽鼓勵孩子學音樂的積極性。這個有著蘇聯人的性的美國老師可能是好的折衷。事實證明這是一個好的選擇，不是因為我的想當然，而是因為這個老師非常好，非常愛佳佳。下麵是我給一個朋友推薦該老師的電子郵件。

Jiajia’s piano teacher Mrs Mary Sadovnikoff is very good.  I simply love her.  She treats Jiajia as her own grandchild.  She is also very knowledgeable and musical.  I heard she is an authority pianist in RI who interprets Mozart’s music the best.  And she is able to give out concerts in her eighties.  She used to teach Jiajia at her home studio and I love the feeling of that: the old and young pianists work together, sometimes on one piano, sometimes on two pianos, while I lie on the sofa either listening to the music or falling asleep.  It is a very quiet and warm scene J  I was pregnant at that time, and whenever I fell asleep during the lesson, Mary would protest that her and jiajia’s music shouldn’t be that boring – she doesn’t know that I am immune to music J  these are some of my fond memories of her lessons.  Because of her, Jiajia told me that she wants to marry a pianist or someone who could play an instrument because those would be people who are nice and calm like Mary.  And Mama is not calm at all because she doesn’t know how to play an instrument L
