A college student's weekend

She applied for a leadership position in one of the student clubs two weeks ago and she was supposed to hear from them in the later part of last week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday came and went, I did not hear anything from her, not even a reply from my " hi, how are you?"  text.  On Saturday evenevening, I shared an humor cartoon with her via text.  She sent back a reply acknowledging the humor, but did not mention anything about her application and only  said she had been busy.

She finally called us today, and told a string of events happened in the last few days, the least of which was about her application.  She was offerred the position and she accepted it, with full knowledge of challenges of running the organization and working with a diverse group.
