The Water Balloon Fight“Take this! And this!” Andrew shouted. I dodged the two water balloons that Andrew threw at me.
“Phbbbbb!” I stuck out my tongue and threw a balloon at Sam. It was boys against girls. So far, no one had gotten hit yet. If you got hit, you were benched for five minutes, or until someone from their team caught a water balloon. The goal was to make the other team have no people left.
Suddenly, I hit Andrew. He was a notorious cheater. Why Sam had invited him I have no idea. The water from the water balloon carried him up. Then Andrew disappeared. Sam shrugged.
A water balloon exploded near me. I jumped up just in time. Lucy was not so lucky and disappeared. I ran for the water balloon bucket to find that it had sunk into the ground, leaving only the water balloons. I put a foot onto the mud only to find that it was quick mud. I used a stick to roll balloons to my side. The balloons popped, and I rode up on them like a wave.
Suddenly, I was on the beach. Andrew and Lucy were there, up ahead. I figured that the water from the water balloons was like a wormhole. So I dug myself a salt mine. A salt mine is a hole that has loosely packed sand that allows water to sink in but leaves the salt behind. Then suddenly, a wave came up. Everyone on the beach screamed and ran. Andrew was caught in it, then disappeared as the wave slunk back to the ocean.
Soon, two waves followed. Lucy and I sprinted like mad, but the tsunami crashed over our heads. I screamed. Then, suddenly, the wave rose up again. But this time I was in Sam’s backyard.
“Wakey-wakey, little ducky.” The noise boomed everywhere. A water balloon hit me in my leg, and this time, the world faded into darkness. I opened my eyes. “You don’t want to be late for your Halloween party at Sam’s house, do you?” my mother asked.
