Nook Simple Touch (NST) 破解

Nook Simple Touch is a much better e-ink product. It is much darker than Kindle first and second gen, maybe even Kindle Touch. Since it has SD card slot, it is much easier to root and install new stuffs.　
破解NST的最大動力是可以替換中文字體，安裝網頁瀏覽器。如果想，可以安裝Android market，甚至Angry Birds。能不能玩遊戲是另說的。按照以下的幾個網頁可以破解，

具體步驟如下：注意，用dd命令的時候“bs=1M”應該是“bs=1m”
1，充電，開機，注意跳過注冊步驟。
2，備份。每一台機器的stock rom內含序列號，因此都不一樣！注意不可用別人的。如果NST變磚頭的，用複原可以救活。
3，用破解的ROM啟動，進行root。
可以了！

順便講一下，用linux或者MAC OSX是最方便的，不需要winimage，也不需要對付把SD卡分區的問題。if you only use Windows, prepare to use your SD card as 200MB partition afterwards. Hard to remove the partition from SD. Use Linux/OSX, it is soooooo much easier. Backing up and restoring image is just one simple command of "dd if=<> of=<> bs=1m".
