Cold Mountain is a movie I watched many times. Every time I watched, I was still deeply touched by the soft and tender feeling/emotion expressed by the two characters Inman and Ada performed by Jude Law and Nicole Kidman, such a wonderful description on the loyalty and missing of love. They haven't spoken each other very much,even could say,m they barely know each other, but the seeds of love bear deeply in each of their heart.

One last episode clearly expressed what they thought each other when Inman risked his life escaping from the hospital (he is not coward, but a real hero in the battles) and finally walked thousands miles back to the cold mountain and found his true lover Ada.

"Did you get my letters?"
"I got three letters. I carried them, I carried them in the book you gave me!"
"I probably sent you a hundred and three!" coarse voice from Ada.

"Did you write to me?"
"Whenever I got time. If you never got I could summarize.I pray for you all well. I pray I am in your thoughts!" "You have kept me from sliding into some dark places!"
"How could I keep you? We barely know each other, it is a few moments!"
"A thousands moments!" Inman elevated his voice " like a bag full of tiny diamonds!"

Both smiled and recalled the past.

"You plow in the fields."
"You carry a tray."
"You won't come in"
"No I won't go in"
"So that is why I carry the tray so that I can come out to see you!"

"That kiss. that kiss is everyday when I am walking!"
"Every day I am waiting, longing, longing to see you face!"
"If you could see my inside, whatever you would name it, my my spirit, that is what I fear!"

Two love souls finally exposed their real feelings when Inman walked back from war. They did not have many talks before.

 

“So say good night?”

“No, please don' t say good night”

They burst out finally:

"I marry you, I marry you, I marry you!"

“I marry you, I marry you, I marry you, I marry you.....”
