這是一個LUXURY yacht club community, almost 80% own or used to own a yacht or a luxury fishing boat or a sail boat since the South Carolina Yacht Club is in the community.
If you dont own a yacht here it would be hard to fit into the social circle. Or people from other plantations(communities) would tease you: why live there without a boat (they actually mean a yacht).
It is not that poeple are snobs, but how they spend their time. The only curiocity the have for others is they are vigilant to strangers or non resident visitors. It seems to me everybody pays immediate attention to somebody they dont feel familiar with.
所以,不要說美國沒有人民戰爭。
美國的朝陽大媽大叔無處不在,除了社區24/7的保安巡邏。
Pretty much like Charlston and Savannah, most of the buildings in our community are luxury Townhomes which is just a coastal living lifestyle.
i am very lucky to own a townhome here, it is right on the water, one of the best buildings in the community. and the price didnt break our bank account. there were other 6 competitor buyers to bid on the house but we won. (贏的技巧?首先是財務狀況比較,如果財務狀況一樣的情況下,就看賣家的喜好了。賣家說有比我們出價高的,但他們判斷那一家的財務狀況沒有我們穩定)
Since then, as far as i noticed, in this neibourhood, if a house is in a good condition, it normally would be privately sold instead of going to the open marekt.
#30 is an exception.
Our building is right on the water, next to the yacht club house, with perfect view of coastal sunrise, harbour and water. the building has 4 end units, #24, #25, #29 and #30, with a bigger lot and more spacious floor plan than the 3 middle units. These four end units occupy same lot size with just a little different orginal floor plan. However #24, #25, #29 are all professioanlly remodeled, tearing down the walls, opening the space, and end up all luxury 2bed, 3bath, one office, spacious attic, one court yard, one storage shade by the court yard, high ceiling living with a fireplace, hurricane resistant glass walls(or sliding floor glass walls), 8 feet plus cook island kitchen and dining area (#25 and #29 with a carolina room--sun room facing the water, an area not counted into the total sqf).
Mine, dare I say we have the best interior decor and furnitures, thanks to Candece, who was a perfectionist. The handle of the closet is Baldwin, furnitures are brand-new from RH main stores, which suits the coastal townhome perfectly.
#30 is at the cornor so they dont have as a good view as ours. But the view is not a problem, the house condition was a big concern, the pipes have serval broken points, among all other problems. #30 is a fix-upper.
The previous owner was in her 70s and didnt have energy to fix the problems anymore so she sold it at a relatively low price.
We are happy that she sold it and even happier that Danise bought it because Danise and his wife seem financially very secure and will make efforts to match #24, 25 and #29.
Our hunch is right that the new owner Danise and his wife are financially very secure. They own another big house in Atlanta and bought this one just because his wife likes it.
Denise told me and my husband, they would have to hire a designer and a project manager to do the job. He said he is not very impressed by the condition of the house but his wife head-over-toe fell in love with the beauty of the community and our building.
it took 2 years for them to prepare. Now they start the project.
we all feel good that 30 will match 24, 25 and 29.
i took a few pictures of their projects vihicles. holly molly, the wall was in a bad condition and they tore down it.
look forward to see the new results which predicately will be similar to 24, 25 and 29.
what a harmony!
