SAT vocab. 一目了然

A simple formula I have found to link a word w/ its definition
Like words in this list: as well as the Ids here, such as the word lampoon, which  I associate with  two ID, lamp + oon. Therefore it is a fun to guess what is the relation of an ID with the personality of a living person.
What I did is to classify letters in alphabet and link Chinese characters with letters.

Acquiesce	to agree to; give in to
Bombast	arrogant, pompous language
Curtail	cut short
Epicure	someone who appreciates good food and drink
Heed	listen to---pay attention to
Lampoon	ridicule; spoof
Oblivious	totally unaware
Podium	raised platform
Resonant	echoing
Tenuous	flimsy; not solid
