Advise to the two camps

I just talked about the polarization of the Chinese communities triggered by the recent events. Here are my advise to the two camps.
1. China/GCD supporters: whatever China/GCD does is good and democracy sucks.
- these people need to realize that democracy is the best political system mankind has invented so far, with its importance parallel to Newtonian Mechanics. China needs to adopt it for its own good. Don't claim Newtonian does not work because you don't want to learn.
2. China/GCD bashers: whatever China/GCD does is evil, and Western governments/media/activists rock.
- these people need to understand the internal mechanics of a democracy. Western politicians and media are no saints. They are just as evil as the Chinese GCD if left unchecked. The system works in terms of protecting public interests, not because it is run by saints, but because of a check and balance built-in. You can count that the same system will not protect Chinese interests by design, simply because the Chinese interests are not represented in the system. CNN can get away with less than objective reporting wrt Tibet, while CBS had to fire Dan Rather for a falsified document wrt Bush.
