Route 66, a legendary highway, started from Chicago, ended at Los Angeles, holds an important position in American history. It is called "the Mother Road" or "American Main Street". Built in 1926, Rt 66 played a significant role in the migration of population to California during the great depression era and the war effort during WWII. By 1985, the last section of Rt 66 was replaced by the new interstate freeway. The section in Arizona, running parallel to I40, is now the longest uninterupted stretch of Rt 66.

那年，迪斯尼的動畫片《Cars》中講到的Route 66 原來是真實的地理地方啊。

《Cars》盡管是動畫片，其中的一些景，一些懷舊的鄉村音樂很是打動人心的。
