緊急求教: 我需要找什麽樣的人擔保?

我於1997年來美。先由B1 轉成學生身份。後因各種原因使自己黑了下來。去年中我與美國公民的妻子結婚，並聯係了一個律師。根據，律師的要求我去了指定的醫院做了檢查身體。當我把我準備好的材料——如：我太太的公民紙，我們的結婚證，還有我的身體檢查等、、、、、、當我把這些寄給律師後，律師來電說我和我太太的收入低，所以，要找一個擔保人，大家知道，從97年到現在我在美沒已經11年了，在大路的母親年齡以大。我十分想拿到綠卡回去看她老人家。我有如下問題請教各位高人，並表示深切的謝意！
1，律師所說的擔保，我需要找什麽樣的人？到哪裏找？
2，如我以上所說情況，我大約什麽時間可以拿到綠卡（臨時或正式）

1) You need to file USCIS Form I-864 - Affidavit of Support, and find a co-sponsor. The form I-864 is a contractual affidavit of support, and must be submitted for most family-based applicants and employment-based applicants when a relative is the petitioner. 2) Since you entered the country legally and overstayed, you can adjust your status in US after your marriage with a US citizen. But depends on when you entered the country with inspection and why you overstayed your visa, there may be additional issues that would complicate your status adjustment, so it may take more than a year to get the conditional green card.
