1. 預防被裁
1.1 胡說之說“裁員次序”:
. 不能幹活,領導也不喜歡的;
. 能幹活,領導不喜歡的;
. 不能幹活,領導卻喜歡的;
. 能幹活,領導也喜歡的。
1.2 “公司被最大的競爭對手買了”,一般被合並後, 都會有不同程度的裁員。 可能當時就走人, 也可能要過上3、5個月, 不好說。不管裁員不裁員, 自己都應該采取主動。不要裁員來, 臨時抓瞎。
2. 公司宣布裁員,該怎麽辦?
“無論你的公司又沒有宣布裁人,You should always Act proactive. Team up with a good recruiter, conduct passive search.
理想的狀況下,公司應該更關心它的員工,你要關office沒關係,提前招呼一下啊。。。種種原因吧,公司不會把你個人的利益放在第一位。作為個人,就一定要為各種狀況做準備,be proactive。
找一個好的recruiter,告訴他們你的background, what do you want for next position, 等等。讓他們幫你看著。你有可能永遠不用換工作,但是如果他們找到你的dream job,換不換工作還不是由你決定。。自己的命運自己掌握比較好對不對。”
3. "得密報, 公司一周後可能要裁人, 有我. ", 是否主動辭, 以保名節?

Nobody will quit a job when you know there will be a layoff.
Instead, many people would rather hold their offer in hand, wait to get a layoff and get a layoff package. Why not?
"Because I can say I did quit the job, not be laid-off".
The truth is, nowadays, so may layoff happened in so many companies, people totally understood.
Use your common sense to think, don't use 雷奉精神 in your job hunting process.”
4. 被裁後心理調節
4.1 “天涯何處無芳草,
這塊兒黃了別處兒找.
此處不留爺, 自有留爺處.
樹挪死,人挪活.
仨腿的蛤蟆不好找,雇奴才的公司還不有的是.
別緊張,別害怕,大偶了, 把老板炒了.”
4.2 “裁員能改造人,希望我這被裁前就幫老婆包餃子,每天做飯燒菜,也愛穿老婆買的衣服,每天接送兒子上day care, play with him,do housework and grocery shopping 的人也能被改造一下...希望老婆能enjoy my fulltime home service...hehe”
5. 被裁後的交流
“跟同事和朋友交流一下,沒準誰能幫你一把,幫著盯一盯公司是否招人,遞個簡曆。很多公司招人不公開,即所謂的hidden job market,這部分的潛力比公開市場還大。
以本人為例:12月初“引刀成一快”,得知消息5分鍾後,我就向朋友同事廣散帖子,有頭老黃牛目前“宅”著,需要耕地的快來找俺。經朋友的朋友的朋友介紹,第二個星期就有麵試,聖誕節前拿到了offer。在美國四化建設高潮時期,我通過公開渠道找工作都沒這麽快,讓我的reference們都吃了一驚,前一份工作的老板得到消息後還發email道賀。
失去工作的人或家庭,切不可自我封閉。要走出去,把自己賣了!你會發現,有很多意想不到的熱心人幫忙。”
6. 被layoff了, 找新工作要如實說
6.1 “其實, 被裁員是一個比較不錯的借口。公司自己發展不好, 要裁員。 因此, 不是你個人的工作沒作好。”
6.2 “If you got layoff, you have to go. You can say that you like the company, due to re-org, you have to go. But if you tell them that you like to find others, they will wonder how long you would stay in their companies.”
6.3 “裁員無需解釋。被裁的也可能是難得人才。裁員完全是公司運行不佳或是改變運行策略,跟被裁人員的素質無關。新雇主根本不會像你那樣去想。”
6.4 “一般公司不會問為什麽不留你而留別人 (出於禮貌也無必要,美國的文化很理解這樣的事情)
我覺得大致可以這樣說(將下麵的口語化):
At first I thought I won't be affected based on the perception of my contributions (cite examples here) and work well with everybody. I was really surprised when I was told my department (or program) was cut also. Later on I learnt there were 55 out of 99 being affected. From a positive point of view, however, this gives me a chance and motivation to look for a new opportunity such as the one you provided. (Then praise them, say why you want to join them bla bla bla). Now I am available to start as soon as possible.
Be positive/optimistic/relaxed. Do not show any negativity/sad feelings/disappointment (body language and verbal language, smile with shiny eyes all the time...)”
6. 老公被裁
“我老公被累的那段日子,我被累慘了,真不知道是我被累還是他被累了。怕他想不開, 我每天 陪他下圍棋到深夜(他 同時開倆盤,肉搏的時候我得幫他數氣),沒事的時候就和他探討圍棋的tips,
他打遊戲的時候,夜宵是變著花樣的做, 連洗腳水都端到遊戲桌前......
小心億億的伺候著, 等他一找到工作, 加倍奉還.......”
6. 看到希望:
Jamesxu 在被裁第3個星期,offer終於到手了, 工資還有微漲,福利居然比以前的好。
