Local Natives

Local Natives (formerly known as Cavil at Rest) is an indie rock band based in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, USA. Their debut album, Gorilla Manor, was first released in the UK in November 2009, and later released in the US on February 16, 2010. The album received mostly positive reviews and debuted in the Billboard 200 and at #3 in the New Artist Chart.
Their sound has been described as "afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies".Clash Music has also described their style as psych-folk, or modern worldly folk.

indie rock 是獨立搖滾的意思，我開始還以為是印度搖滾（俺的英文不好，望文生義的厲害）。

獨立搖滾（Indie Rock，independent rock的縮寫）是搖滾樂在獨立音樂當中發展出來的一種音樂類型。獨立搖滾與獨立音樂有時候可以相互替換，不過獨立搖滾比較偏向於有著搖滾音樂的性質，較不同於獨立流行歌曲。不過，判斷是否為搖滾音樂的標準很多，包括從樂器方麵（電吉他、貝斯與鼓），以及從較抽象的搖滾精神方麵來評斷等等。

有別於普遍與主流唱片公司簽約的音樂人，獨立搖滾音樂人簽約的對象一般是獨立唱片公司，有的甚至根本不簽約。獨立搖滾在嚴格意義上不是一種音樂類型（盡管這一術語通常用來特指某些樂隊，如人行道樂隊及受其影響的樂隊），而是通常泛指某些推崇地下文化價值的音樂人或音樂風格，並且常是搖滾音樂。與獨立搖滾有關的音樂風格或地下風格，還包括低保真音樂、後搖滾音樂、車庫朋克、情緒搖滾、悲核音樂、c86、童稚搖滾和數位搖滾等，其相關（有時重疊）的音樂分類則有自賞樂隊和獨立流行樂等。

作為特色之一，獨立搖滾音樂人最重視的是自身音樂和職業生涯的獨立性置，透過他們獨立的唱片公司發行唱片（有時就是他們自己）、巡演、口耳相傳以及在獨立電台或大學廣播站播放的方式增加知名度。然而，他們之中較為流行的歌手，最終往往會與主流唱片公司簽約 ，盡管他們的口碑通常建立在之前獨立表演的成功上。
