Castrato,也叫假聲男高音,閹人名伶,閹人歌唱家,原本存在於教堂,是詩班中充當女性不能進入演出時的替代,采用假聲演唱,他們的聲音氣聲的成份很高;閹人歌唱家經過長年的訓練後,能夠用像是男高音一樣的歌聲,卻演唱超過女高音的音域,這也是後者讓當時人深感興奮的原因。他們18世紀達到輝煌,成為一種流行的文化現象,superstar.
