電影內容簡介和觀後感：
故事發生在法國南方一海濱小鎮，有位叫 Mellie 的女人，五官非常精致，身材是相當的好，不高不矮， 穿著很可愛，性感。丈夫是航空公司的飛行員，常年世界各地帶出跑，很少在家，所以她常一人守著那棟很大很漂亮的房子 ， Mellie 的媽媽，一位漂亮年輕的單身母親常來看她， 與她做伴， 父親早年因母親的背叛而離家出走。 Mellie 的童年因父母的不合，而留下了些陰影， 但也無法影響她仍是一位天性快樂的女人，有點大大咧咧的，父親給她起名叫 Melodie, 所以叫麽 Mellie .
影片已開始就是一位穿米色雨衣的高個陌生男人在雨中從班車下來，來到這個小鎮， 他站在那，目光很陰森可怕，這一幕都被 Mellie 看到了， 可做夢也沒想到，她平靜的生活卻被這位陌生神秘的男人的出現而打破，接著發生了一係列她意想不到不到的事， Mellie 看上去是那種頭腦簡單的女人，但後來她用她那點可憐的小聰明跟她周圍的人都周旋 , 看上去很笨拙，可 還行得通，而且非常可愛， ……
影片中出現的法國女人都是那種典型的南方法國女人：有點任性可愛，我行我素，不論年齡身材保持的相當好，當然影片中都是演員，可現實生活裏法國南方女人也是這樣。 夏天喜歡穿淺色，很合身的衣裙，不像巴黎總是那麽灰灰黑黑一大片，休閑出門時，她們 愛提個大的草編，藤編的籃子，或大草包去購物，法國人沒多少人拎LV包的，當然我承認LV包很結實，用了多少年還是好好的，顏色也很好配衣服，最近我的一位好朋友告訴我，亞洲人喜歡LV的錢包，還帶有點迷信的說法，可能是衝LV二字 LV也可以解釋為長久，好了先別跑題。
我知道這部影片還是因為 聽了 francis Lai 的音樂，借來看，剛一看開頭，就有點不想往下看了，因為影片開頭真是很恐怖，當時又是夜深人靜的，我想停下放映，可我又想 francis Lai 參與配樂的影片幾乎都是很好看的電影，法國 50 ， 60 ， 70 年代的影片，也就是二戰後他們拍了很多很有藝術欣賞人性價值的好電影 ， 既然今天還放在書架上，那一定有可看之處， 何況影片中還有一位美國演員，是我喜歡的， Charles Bronson, 他演的警探長角色都是那種很鬥智很冷幽默的，一幅胸有成竹的樣子，看他演的電影都學很多東西，周密的思維和推理，所以還是看完吧，確實後來是越看越有趣，特別是 Melly 和上校的鬥智周旋很有意思，兩人的關係也變得很微妙．．．．．．
還是很好看的一部 thriller 電影：法國人真厲害，這麽一個有點黃色暴力的故事，被他們也拍得卻那麽浪漫，有情調， 也許就是法國人那種人生哲學 ， 沒有絕對的對和錯，所有的人和事都是有存在的緣由（ raison d’etre ）。 盡管是恐怖片，但Francis Lai 的音樂以徹底將片子整個《軟化》， 一派法蘭西情調：漂亮的女演員，法國南方小鎮 , 法國南方小鎮普通人悠閑的生活：享受愛，享受生活，美食，陽光，空氣，大海 …… 而最後一幕很人性的結尾，讓人震撼，那感覺留在心頭讓人久久揮之不去， 你會說：這．．．， 怎麽可以這樣呢？對，又怎麽了？！ 就可以這樣的，我們是人，大寫的 人。

Plot summary
In a god-forsaken, off-season French seaside town we meet Marlène Jobert starring as the diffident, nail-biting, beautiful and lonely Mélancholie "Mellie" Mau, who watches a mysterious stranger step down from the bus into the pouring rain. He follows and eventually rapes her, while her husband (an airline navigator) is away from home. However, when coming to her senses again, she manages to kill her attacker and dispose of the corpse. She decides to keep quiet about the whole incident to avoid complications with her jealous husband. — Enter Charles Bronson as the tough US Army colonel Harry Dobbs, who is out on undercover work trying to track down a serial rapist who has escaped from a military stockade in

Awards
In 1970 the film won the Special David of the David di Donatello Awards. In 1971 it won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film, was nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Edgar Allan Poe Awards, and for the Golden Laurel.
Soundtrack
Rider on the Rain is also the main theme of the original movie soundtrack (with lyrics by Sébastien Japrisot and sung by French chansonette Severine). The American singer-songwriter Peggy Lee wrote English lyrics for the song, and recorded it on her 1971 album Make It With You as "Passenger in the Rain."
