What my father has taught me all these years

It was my father’s birthday a few days ago, now he’s a proud AARPer.

1, there’s no such thing as “freebie” in this world, everything you got pay for it, one way or the other.

2, we’re not in show business, so keep it low profile.

3, it’s a good thing to go for “luxury” stuff, as long as you work for it and get it on your own.

My father is not a wordy person; he hasn’t talked much, at least not to me. So it’s not that hard to remember what he’s said to me all these years.

I’ve been seriously thinking of going back to school, it’ll be something major in my life, so I went to him seeking for advice. He said to me, there are more crucial decisions out there waiting for you if you really decide to become a lawyer, and by then there might be no one helping you to make up your mind. So make this one be your first to get started.

Quite a way to dodge the responsibility for career advising, dad.

Well, pop, happy B day, and I think you’d be a fantastic legal counselor if you chose to back decades ago.
