高中以來就喜歡Carole King她那青春芬芳、直言無悔的感情態度與那稍微沙啞的自然嗓音。或許跟市場上流行的甜美女聲不同，也不能算是美女，但我就愛那樣的調調，像鄰家大姐般緩緩地訴說自己的心情故事和人生觀。
1942年出生於紐約布魯克林的Carole King四歲時便開始彈鋼琴，大學時曾組過樂團，不過其是以詞曲創作的身份初入樂壇並嶄露頭角，與其第一任丈夫Gerry Goffin是詞曲創作的最佳黃金組合，1987年兩人一同榮獲Natiional Academy of Songwriters終身成就獎，1990年同時引薦進入詞曲創作及搖滾名人殿堂。Carole King除了詞曲創作的成就之外，1971年其以歌手身份發行的專輯「Tapestry」更是大獲好評，專輯停留排行榜上長達302周，其中還包括15周的冠軍王座，於隔年的葛萊美獎頒獎典禮上更是出盡鋒頭，成為第一位女性囊獲「年度最佳專輯」、「年度最佳唱片(It's Too Late)」、「年度最佳歌曲(You've Got A Friend)」、「年度最佳流行樂女歌手」等四項大獎，全球專輯銷售量超過一千萬張。
