Dramatic Word Play

I wonder which is more enjoyable: to read a book or to appreciate the art of language.

I thought about this last night when I finished watching a documentary called Wordplay. It's about crossword puzzles, the ones appearing on New York Times. It's quite fascinating and the 2nd half of it is full of drama - crossword puzzle drama.

To be honest, I've yet to do one crossword puzzle, NYT or not. I don't think I'm up to it. 1. I don't have that big a vocabulary yet and 2. I don't know that much of Western culture trivia.

Maybe I will/can in another year or two. Who knows. Maybe some day I can go onto the crossword puzzle tournament too.

P.s. It's a luxury to know one's passion and have the guts to pursue it. However, when someone, like moi, is passionate about too many a things, that just means everything is equally dull.
