He likes to joke around. She rarely trusts. Sometimes she feels as if they are ships crossing path in the thick of night, uncertain of being able to make a connection.

But when she gets scared, cries, becomes desperate, he listens and if he's nearby, he holds her. And always when she gets through an episode he says don't worry I will take care of you.

He gazes at her and calls her by a silly name.

She smiles, sometimes with tears still hanging on her cheeks, names him back.

It feels that he means it to take care of her and that makes her feel safe.

As if the night is peeling off, inch by a tiny inch, and they are pushed toward each other by the illuminating sea.
