ISS: Astronauts install new solar panels on Space Station in spacewalk
New solar arrays were installed on the International Space Station on Sunday.
NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough and Thoma Pesce, from the European Space Agency (ESA), performed a spacewalk for the installation. The panel was installed on the P6 truss segment. The work took six hours.
During the previous spacewalk, on June 16, the astronauts had partially installed the first solar array, but due to some technical issues, they didn't manage to complete the work.
According to NASA, ISS current eight solar panels installed about 20 years ago have shown signs of wearing off.
