Richard Hayne(born May 26, 1947) is the president and CEO ofUrban Outfitters, anAmericanchain of clothing retailers. Hayne has served as chairman and president since 1976. In 2012, he became CEO following the retirement of Glen Senk.[2]According to theForbes, Hayne dropped off theForbes 400list in 2015. As of March 2019, Hayne ranked #1818 onForbes Billionaires2019 list.[3]

Hayne is a 1969 graduate ofLehigh Universitywith a degree inanthropology.[4]

He co-founded Urban Outfitters, Inc., in 1970 with former wife, Judy Wicks.[5]The couple divorced a year later.[5]The first store was located on the campus of theUniversity of Pennsylvania. Today, the company operates over 400 stores under four brands:Urban Outfitters,Free People,Anthropologieand Terrain, a gardening brand which has standalone stores inWestport, Connecticut, andGlen Mills, Pennsylvania.[6][7]
