Katherine Moore Porter[1](born January 3, 1974) is an American law professor, attorney, and politician serving as theU.S. RepresentativeforCalifornias 45th congressional districtsince 2019. A member of theDemocratic Party, she is the first Democrat to beelectedto represent the district, which covers much of south-centralOrange County, includingIrvine,TustinandLake Forestalong with large slices ofAnaheimandLaguna Niguel. Porter attendedHarvard UniversityandYale University; she most recently taught at theUniversity of California, Irvine School of Law.
