我現在工作的公司因為考慮工作的延續性問題，交接問題，希望我在opt結束後（我將轉h4)能夠volunteer 一段時間，可是我們學校國際學生辦公室，給了我這樣的關於volunteer work的定義和解釋，並且too dangerous，not worthwhile if you want to apply Green card.以你的經驗和判斷，是這樣嗎？

Volunteer work
1. Volunteering in community service or nursary is OK, but better on a now-and-then basis, not continuous.
2. For the volunteer work, you can not be paid, neither can you accept any compensation, like free computer.
3. That work should not be the one that used to be done by paid employee which will make you hard to claim you received nothing.
4. You should almost never try to volunteer in a private company, coz it is hard to defend yourself under strict policy of immigrant law which are usually very strict to foreigners.
5. If you volunteer in a private company and actually don\'t get any compenstation except experience gained, it is hard to define experience, coz it could be valuable for your job search later, and furthermore, you could possibly take away work opportunity from Americans.
