Bertie Higgins於1944年12月8日出生於佛羅裏達州，Bertie身為職業音樂家，堅實的音樂基礎使他在60年代早期的單獨演唱能夠脫穎而出，一鳴驚人。經過七十年代的醞釀，1982年他的首次演唱《天堂裏的另一天》實際上使他東山再起，因為這是他自1968年落漠以來在音樂上的又一次冒險。1982 年他的《主要樂章》榜居第十，也是他唯一的成功之作;這首Casablanca是Bertie Higgins在1986年錄唱。

Bertie Higgins演唱的名叫Casablanca這首歌, 很多人以為是影片《卡薩布蘭卡》的插曲，這是誤解, 其實著名影片《卡薩布蘭卡》的主題曲是 “ As time goes by (時光流逝)”, 由黑人歌手Kendy Rogers演唱, 也非常經典。因為電影太過出名，影響很大，Casablanca這首歌就是在它影響下出現的，所以這首歌開明宗義笫一句就說是在看<卡薩布蘭卡>電影時相愛的。
