You can count on me

I watched this movie again on the plane after 10 years. It was about a sister and brother who lost their parents to car accident when they were young. The elder sister lived in home town. She led a steady life and was a single mother of 8 yr old son. The brother was a drifter. He came back to see her. He stayed with them for a short while. In the end, she kicked him out of the house. He went on drifting. A few scenes in the movie touched me:1. At their parents' funeral, they were sitting together in the church, holding hands, and crying silently. The tragedy changed them and bond them together forever. 2. She was seeing a guy on and off. He suddenly asked to marry him. She was confused as to what to do. In the end, she rejected him. She knew they had a lot problems between them. He took the rejection well. She then asked him if they were still good friends.3. She had an annoying new boss who had a pregnant wife. The boss' marriage was going bad. She had an affair with him while dating the first guy. She didn't know why she was doing it. In the end, she confessed to the priest that she got involved with men who she felt sorry for. 4. After she kicked her brother out of the house, he decided to leave town. They had a teary goodbye at the bus stop. She was concerned what would happen to him. She was afraid he would be a stranger. He was comforting her. He looked her in the eye and said "remember when we were kids? Remember what we were saying to each other?". They both cried and embraced each other.
