I have been in the Church for 11 years and read the bible in English and Chinese more than a dozen times. I have found the bible no better than Chinese classical works during the same period. In fact Chinese classics contain much more wisdom but we Chinese don't believe those works as literal truth and don't claim that those works were inspired by God.
Practically all the Christians are just playing word games and they use the game to manipulate people to achieve their own agenda and in the meantime they fool themselves too. They say they are believers but in fact they are not. The bible says that the sun revolves around the earth, but no Christians except idiots believe that. They say that their God is almighty, but when they are sick they go to doctors; the bible says they need to trust God and never recommends them go to see doctors; instead the bible says that Jesus and his disciples were able to cure all diseases. When they are in court, they issue verdit on scientific evidence and they do not ask their God to reveal to them whether the persecuted commits a crime or is innocent.
Theoretically, it is easy for fair-minded people to see the absurdity of Christianity. From time and time the religion has come into conflict with science and every time it has been defeated by science.
The major problems with monotheistic religions is that they proclaim things that require you must have faith in. You have to believe God created the world about 6000 years ago, against which every piece of scientific evidence has been found. You have to believe one of their prophets was eaten by a big fish and stayed in the fish's belly for 3 days but the prophet was perfectly alive and was able to preach that people were sinful . You have to believe that a virgin gives birth to a baby and she is still a virgin afterwards. You have to believe a dead person whose body stank came to live again and so on and so forth. Every normal person knows those things were just fairy tales made up by human illusion and delusion but those monotheistic believers make themselves believe they are literally true.
However in this most scientifically advanced country, churches have been able to use tricks to spell-bind people so that they "believe" things that is totally nonsense. Of course the major driving force behind all of this ridiculous phenomenon is simple, that is, money. If the churches dropped their tithe, Christianity would die instantly.
The word "faith" has been taunted as something lofty, but it is in reality just the symbol for stupidity and ignorance. So next time you hear people talking about "faith", you know they are priding themselves with stupidity. But it is important to remember not to argue with them; as a song goes: "You can't fix stupid". If you don't believe me, try it yourself and see what happens.
