　　故事梗概：2008年央視一套開年大戲

　　《闖關東》講述的是從清末到九一八事變爆發前，一戶山東人家為生活所迫而離鄉背井“闖關東”的故事，以主人公朱開山的複雜、坎坷的一生為線索，其中穿插了朱開山的三個性格炯異、命運不同的兒子在關東路上遇到的種種磨難和考驗。在劇本策劃階段就將其創作定位為：小人物成為大英雄的故事。

　　“闖關東”這種民族行為是中華民族特定曆史背景下被迫進行的民族大遷移，關東路上的闖蕩需要經曆一次次的波折磨難，包括土匪、官兵、土豪、鄉霸、流氓、流民、善人、妓女、癮君子、礦工等等各色人物將陸續登場，給山東大漢製造各種各樣的困難，在苦難之下，朱家父子、兄弟、夫妻之間所產生的悲歡離合的故事。這一故事設計與好萊塢大片《指環王》頗有異曲同工之妙。又與中國古典文學《西遊記》相似，由此可見中西影視文化在人性的本質這一問題上的基本認識是相同的，所謂高手過招，點到為止，摘花飛葉看似相似，其內功也自有獨得之妙。
