After reading the novel After Havana, this was the only Spanish phrase I could remember. After attending the Spanish class tonight, I finally understand the meaning of it - coffee with milk. How simple.
It took me a lot of time reading the 300+ pages of this novel, but I loved it. Not only because it is a thriller, that involves exotic location, tough guy, beautiful girl, ransom and gun fight, but also, it is taken at a place where people speak Spanish. I just started learning Spanish. It is interesting to see some Spanish words at every page, which I would guess, and mostly understanding the meaning of the sentenses.
I am happy to have finished another English book this year. I haven't finished any one book in the past 5 years. Wish my language improves with every book i read.
I kind of stopped reading New York Times everyday during work. The work has piled up, since someone got fired last week. The senior CM had really started putting a little pressure on me today. I told him, well, I would procrastinate for another day.
He joined the company just before first time I left this company. He is new but smart, and trying to do better. I can see that. If i had not left the company, I would be his boss, not because of my ability, but because of my seniority.
Still, it is better this way. I don't feel like getting to office 7:30 in the morning. I don't want my gray hair to return. I don't want to work on Saturdays. Working under him gives me many chances to learn, at a slower pase. There is no rush into doing something I do not know.
It is late. But I am excited, for having finished the book.
I start getting used to listening to Spanish radio station every morning. The songs and the language are just so beautiful, romantic and uplifting.
I shall visit a Spanish speaking country soon. It will be fun.
