Fishing

The East Coast Park is the place that I like the most in Singapore.  Many people bike, roller blade, walk and run along the beautiful, miles long path along the coast during weekends.  Living in Singapore is essentially city life.  People and buildings are the major components of your view.  Life is convenient here, but I still miss the feeling that you are close to the nature.  The East Coast Park is one of a few places in Singapore that reminds me of the life in North America.  I felt refreshed every time that I visited the park.

We went to the park again yesterday afternoon.  We found a fishing dock and went fishing there.  5pm seems to be the right time for fishing….the most exciting moment.  Everyone was harvesting a small kind of fish.  The body of the fish is quite transparent.  You can see the inside of the fish clearly.  Of course, we caught some, too.  Even Richard caught two.  I immediately called my father, brother and sister to share the good news around the world.  My sister definitely felt jealous.  Her reaction was the same as hers when I sent her a picture of more than 20 Creppies that we caught in a day from a reservoir in PA a few years ago.  Her husband was regarded as one of the top fishermen in Toronto.  They liked Creppy the most, but they had never caught so many Creppies in a day.  Well, life is not fair.  You won’t achieve much if you are not at the right place at the right time.  (Sorry my dear sister, I am feeling too good.)  Of course, we enjoyed a fish dish for lunch and felt great again today.  We decided to go fishing more often.
