Caution: 1 click could cost you thousands of dollars

我本想從HSBC Saving 裏麵轉2萬美元去PNC Checking，結果在5月22日Online做的時候做反了，成了從PNC Checking轉2萬美元去HSBC Saving

My PNC Check account automatically transfer 20k from Ellan Creadit card which is linked to my PNC Check account to balance the overdrawal. PNC is now just charging me $5 for protection fee. When I tried to beg them to waive it, the helper girl said she tried, but the computer system disallowed her to waive the fee. The reason could be that I got this kind of waiver 2 years ago, they can only do that for 1 time.

I can bear with that. Then the problem is the huge charge from the transaction fee which is 4% of 20k, that is $800. When I asked PNC to help, I was told that was not their business, I should contact Ellan for that.

Then I called Ellan many times, but they refused to cancel the transaction fee. They said that\'s their typicall business for the cash front payment. I will also need to pay the interest until it\'s been paid, I can bear with the interest , but I really feel the pain for 4% transaction fee!

Now I did get $20k in my HSBC account, I also transfered again, this time, $40k from HSBC to PNC in an emergecy quick transfer.

My lesson: one accidental click online transfer your money could cost you nearly one thousand dollors. We should be very careful next time.
