得意地說，很是不錯：

 

In 2007 I went to with my wife to visit China. 

2007 我跟太太在中國。

I had never been to China before.

我以前 沒有在 中國。

At that time I only  could say “Yi dian dian” because I only knew “yi dian dian” Chinese.

當時 我 隻會 說 “一 點點”因為 我 知道 一點讓中文。

We first flew to Beijing where my wife had some friends.

先 我們 坐 飛機 到 北京。在那兒我太太有有的朋友。

During dinner one night, my wife and her friends taught me how to say one new sentence and some new words.

在晚飯的時候 我太太 和她 朋友教我說一篇句子和些 新詞。

They taught me to say: I eat spicy.

他們 教我 “我吃辣的”。

Later we flew to Shanghai.

我們 坐飛機 去上海到 以後。

My wife had a business meeting, and I had to go find lunch for myself.

我太太有了一個開會， 所以我自己 得找了午飯。

I found a restaurant that looked OK, but the menu had no english.

我 找 了 一 家 飯館 看 不錯， 但是他們 的 菜單沒有英語。

 

There were only Chinese here, no foreigners.

在這兒有隻中國人，沒有了外國

Their menu had lots of pictures, so I pointed to a chicken dish.

他們 的詞典 有了很多照片， 所以我對著 一個肌肉菜。

I heard the waitress say “blah blah blah la?”

我聽了服務員說 “blah blah blah la?”

我隻知道“辣”。

I told her “yi dian dian lada”.

我 告訴 她 “一點點辣的”。

The dish tasted very good!

那個才很不錯了！
