Gilmore Girls是Warner Bro繼Buffy和Dawsons Creek之後推出的又一部可視性極強的Drama。
Lorelai是一個單身母親和女兒Rory一起生活。她16歲時就生下了Rory，所以她們之間的代溝就不是那麽的明顯。她們兩個更像是朋友而不是母女，她們一起開心的生活，無話不談，雖然也會爭吵，但是她們都會很好的把問題解決！
Emily和Richard是Lorelai的父母。他們兩個很有錢、也很高貴，所以他們無法忍受他們的寶貝女兒這麽早就輟學生Rory。因此他們和Lorelai的關係不是很好，但是他們很愛很愛Rory。絕對不會委屈她的！
Lorelai是她們生活的小鎮的旅店的大堂經理。她的人緣很好，朋友超多。Rory的夢想是考入哈佛大學，所以，她來到了一所貴族學校開始她的新生活，為她的夢想努力。她有一個很好的好朋友Lane，是一個asian！
故事就由此展開，親情、友情、愛情，其中Rory和Jess和Dean之間的三角關係被受關注，還有Lorelai和cafe老板Luke的感情也是this drama的一條主線。
這個電視劇的情節雖然不如Buffy那樣緊張刺激、24那樣絲絲緊摳，但是卻非常的吸引人，讓人不由自主的就會深深的融入其中。這種講親情的Drama雖然不多見，但是部部都是非常迷人的精品。
