Sara Collins失蹤了，FBI找到她身在何處之前，他們應該先查出她真正的身份是什麽。
Sara 是喬治亞州著名參議員JEFFREY COLLINS 青春貌美的妻子。現在她失蹤了。
本劇主要通過描寫對FBI資深探員GRAHAM KELTON （Gale Harold飾）、野心勃勃的記者JUDY、參議員家族中各色成員等人的表現引領觀眾進入一個感人神秘的電視劇旅程。
並且此劇將要呈現給觀眾的驚喜遠不至此，遠比它看上去的精彩的多。
探員Kelton和LIN MEI揭開了錯綜複雜的線索，最終發現Sara的失蹤有可能是一件驚天大陰謀的冰山一角。隨著對參議員家庭的調查，他們發現參議員的乖兒子MAX在保守著什麽秘密，而MAX反叛的姐姐也準備要和來曆不明的男友Ben私奔。與此同時，記者JUDY和他的攝影師男友ADAM試圖獲取他們職業生涯裏這個最大新聞的每個細節。
對Sara的搜尋不僅揭露了一個美國著名家庭的另一麵，同時挖掘出來的證據有可能會撼動整個美國社會的根基。
