真正的雪茄迷的樂趣並不全在煙霧繚繞之中，對雪茄的裁剪、點燃以及照料雪茄同樣讓他們獲得很大的滿足。所以對於一個雪茄迷來說，一套齊全的專業煙具是不可缺少。

雪茄迷通常不會固定抽一種口味的雪茄，不同種類和品牌的雪茄長短、粗、細不同，對煙具的規格等要求也不同，所以每項煙具選擇不止一種。

在圈子裏麵，雪茄迷喜歡把收藏雪茄叫做“養雪茄”，這形象地說出了雪茄是一件嬌貴的珍品，需要悉心的照料。

雪茄既怕熱，又怕冷；保存它既不能太潮，又不能太幹。當溫度超過23攝氏度時雪茄就會生蟲，可周遭溫度太低，又會把雪茄中的水分“抽幹”，從而失去其原有的味道，因此最好的方法是把雪茄保存在雪茄專用保濕箱中。

保濕箱有從十幾支裝到五百支裝的各種大小不同的規格，價格從幾千到幾萬不等。保濕箱內的濕度調節器自動調節盒內的濕度，使內部環境適宜保存雪茄，直接延長存於盒內的雪茄的壽命。

保濕箱用的是一種叫香柏木的木料製作，而且隻能用這種木料製作，這樣才能使雪茄保持原有的風味。用其它木料製成的箱子很容易與雪茄串味，而香柏木能讓雪茄更香。因為做工考究，有些雪茄保濕箱已經成為家居精品。

在出外旅行的時候，雪茄迷同樣希望能隨身帶上喜愛的雪茄。那麽各種大大小小的旅行雪茄套就產生了。

雪茄鑽

如果不選擇雪茄剪，那麽穿刺器也是享用雪茄的一個方法。這種方式是采用尖銳物體，如雪茄鑽、針、紙別針或鑽等穿刺入雪茄，以形成一個或數個小洞來方便吸用。

這種方式避免雪茄煙帽受損從而保護了外部包裹層。實際上外部包裹層就不會卷曲或散開了。缺點就是小洞會影響吸用。

雪茄剪

在享受雪茄之前，先得剪開冒頂。市場上各種修剪工具都有，重要的是保持切口清潔平順，否則抽起來就不順當了，還可能損壞茄衣。

鍘刀式雪茄剪（俗稱斷頭台）是目前最流行的工具。雪茄剪有一片垂直的刀片，通過直接切割雪茄煙帽子使雪茄橫斷麵呈圓形。這種切割方式使切口很大，抽吸最方便。但如果手法不熟練就會將茄煙帽子裁去過多而使外部包裹層散開，最終滿口煙絲。

剪刀式雪茄剪像一把剪刀，可以在雪茄頭部剪出任何尺寸的洞，但是也可能因為手法問題刮傷雪茄，甚至扯落整個頭部。

此外還有環形雪茄剪，在雪茄煙頭部插入一把環形刀片，稍微旋轉一下，取出刀切割出的淺而圓的一小塊（如同餅刀）。因為是新產品，其價格也相當昂貴。

打火機

丁烴點火器

點雪茄不能用汽油打火機，因為汽油味道會減損雪茄的風味。丁烴點火器是點燃雪茄的最佳選擇，丁烴很幹淨也沒有異味，火焰大小適中也很持久。

據介紹，火苗穩定後給雪茄點火要橫著拿住雪茄，將尾端以45度幾何角度傾斜，湊近火苗的2．5厘米處，緩緩地旋轉一周，把雪茄預熱一下，然後再靠近火苗的2．5厘米處，讓雪茄從邊緣至中央均勻地燃燒。

長支無硫火柴

有些雪茄迷喜歡用火柴點燃雪茄。點雪茄不能選擇普通火柴，因為其化學物質會使雪茄煙中含有化學物的味道。

而專門用的雪茄火柴至少有7厘米長，不含硫磺。在點燃雪茄時，應該用兩根並排著的火柴以使火焰麵寬並且持久。擦燃火柴後，待火柴頭化學物質充分燃燒再點燃雪茄。

煙灰缸

由於抽雪茄耗費的時間比較長，所以還應該準備一隻特定的雪茄煙灰缸。雪茄煙灰缸並不隻是為了放煙灰——因為無論是雪茄迷的手還是雪茄，都需要給予適當的休息時間。當雪茄迷的手需要稍事休息的時，他就就可以愜意地把雪茄靠在煙灰缸的扶托上。

Now, as some you already know, BengalBoy is a long time cigar smoker from back in the day when I used to sneak the little Swisher Sweet "RawHide" "Ropes" or something like that...... hehe.. little cigars that looked like the ones Clint Eastwood smoked in the "Good, Bad and the Ugly" "Fist Full of Dollars" etc.... Now, I love lighters and the "Oil & Flint" ones are my favorites and most collectable investments. Windproof Lighters, also known as "Cigar Torches" are Butane powered and unlike my "Cartier Lighter"..... are not flint ignition with a languid flame ...... but are like torches where the flame is focused, forced under high pressure, and extremely HOTTTT!!!!! For cigar smokers it results in a quicker light and a flame that is not easily blown out or across your fingers and knuckles while holding the lighter... OUCH!!

So, let me begin with the S.T. Dupont Xtend Windproof Lighter in the Limited "OpusX" Edition.

This lighter is made in Paris, France by what is generally considered the World's Finest Lighter company. S.T. Dupont creates limited and highly collectible cigar & cigarette lighters ranging in price from a few $$ hundred to a few $$ thousand dollars. Along with Dunhill, certain lighters made by S.T. Dupont are really investment quality pieces just like a fine watch. Available in a highly polished aluminum, as well as black & red laquer finish, the X-tend lighters come with a 2 year warranty. You have to send the lighter in for service or warranty work and cannot return it to the original store of purchase for warranty claims.





Packaged in a cardboard outer sleeve and hard plastic case, the S.T. DuPont X-tend comes with manual and warranty books.









The X-tend is a very Beautiful machined aluminum case with a integrated "ignition" lever built into the side of the lighter. You can see it better on the black version.... notice the chrome bar?? Thats the "ignition" lever...



At the bottom of the lighter you will find the fuel filler nipple and flame height adjustment screw as well as a fuel level window.



At the top of the lighter is a unique flame "shutter" that scissors open when the ignition lever is pressed and closes when you release the lever.





The shutter prevents pocket lint and other forign objects from clogging or affecting your sensitive burner. Performance with the single burner is top notch and the fuel resevior holds enough butane to last me a week or more of constant lighting. Ignition is always positive and everything is made and works like a fine pen or watch. At $150 it is by far the most expensive lighter in this roundup...... but when you hold it and use it you see and feel the quality of the materials and construction.



Extremely P.I.M.P., the S.T. DuPont X-tend lighter is cool on the town to light a Kitten's cigarette or to light up that Victory Stoogie at the 19 hole. Its class and quality rolled up in a sporty design.

2. Colibri Quantum "Sapphire" series lighter.






The Colibri brand of lighters are very well known among smokers due to the large variety and wide price range. The Quantum "Sapphire" series lighter is an example of Colibri's high range lighter and at $100 is its most expensive at this time. With a 1 year warranty you can carry the Colibri into the store you purchased it from or contact Colibri for RMA instructions on where to return for service and repair. Made of some alloy but nicely chromed and finished with a mirrored gray body. The most interesting cosmetic touch, though, is the "Sapphire" LED light that glows when you raise the burner cap to enable the electronic ignition bar. Seems silly.... but the execution and cosmetic appearance of the lighter makes this one of the greatest little novelties I've ever seen in a tobacco product. Everyone comments on it when you light up in a Night Club or light the cigarette of the little Hottie bummin a light at the bar.



The "Sapphire" comes in a heavy cardboard box with embossed lettering and cardboard outer sleeve. Inside you will find your lighter, warranty and manual, as well as a very nice,,,although bulky leather pouch for protecting your investment.
