1. In Genesis, it seems that a new era begins today with Abram. The previous era could be summarized as creation, fall, flood, Babel. So far, we have seen two covenants: the rainbow covenant with Noah, and the one with Abram. It seems not a good idea to tell a lie on one's marital status :)). I am married with 2 kids. Praise the Lord!
2. Jesus gave blesses to the sufferings. I ask the Lord to make me salt and light to other people, because most of the time, I am only sugar and fat instead. :))
3. David surely had a personal relationship between him and his Lord.
4. I am suprised reading today's Proverbs, because I always think God is so patient. Today's message shows God wants us to respond to Him in time.
This paraphrase of the Beatitudes is great to quote:
""You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
"You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
"You're blessed when you're content with just who you are--no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.
"You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat.
"You're blessed when you care. At the moment of being "carefull,' you find yourselves cared for.
"You're blessed when you get your inside world--your mind and heart--put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
"You're blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when you discover who you really are, and your place in God's family.
"You're blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God's kingdom." - Matthew 5:3-10

-人類因驕傲要造通天巴別塔,神因此變亂天下人的言語。
-耶和華賜福亞伯蘭“我必叫你成為大國，我必賜福給你，叫你的名為大，你也要叫別人得福。。。地上的萬族都要因你得福。 ”
亞伯蘭按照神的指引前行，一路築壇求告神的名，所以一路順利。但是亞伯蘭也有軟弱犯罪，教唆妻子撒謊為要逃避凶惡，結果險遭難，幸有神出來幫助。
馬太福音 5:1-5:26
耶穌教導八福。求神幫助我，擁有這八福：虛心、哀慟、溫柔、饑渴慕義、憐恤人、清心、使人和睦、為義受逼迫，好使我成為合神心意的天國子民。
基督徒要成為世上的鹽和光。遵行神的誡命，又教訓人遵行，為基督做見證。
詩篇 5:1-5:26
我必憑你豐盛的慈愛進入你的居所。
我必存敬畏你的心向你的聖殿下拜。
---願我每日都住在神的居所，活出敬拜和讚美神的生活。

To Timothy, I think you are already salt and light to other people:))
We could build up close relationship with Lord as long as we do what David did.
Be alert to Lord's advice, otherwise it would be too late.
Gen 15:6 says:
-Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
2. Good question, I don't have the answer. :( But Gen 15:6 could give us a hint.
6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
Q: Just wondering what is going to happen since English becomes the more and more popular language in the world :)
Genesis 12
Q: Why the LORD blessed Abram and gave him the special honor?
- Like Matthew 5 very much! It described all rules of the one's life no matter you are the Christian or not...
