At Vance這個充滿文藝複興氣息的德國旋律速度金屬樂團，以新古典曲風為其音樂主軸，他們成立於1998年，有著六人的編製，原始團員分別是主奏吉他手兼團長Olaf Lenk、主唱Oliver Hartmann、節奏吉他Rainald Konig、鍵盤Ulli Muller、貝斯Jochen Schnur和鼓手Jurgen Lucas。

1999年他們被德國的Shark Records所發掘，並於9月發行了第一張專輯"No Escape"，很明顯的他們的音樂風格帶有相當濃厚的巴洛克風味，就像是Yngwie Malmsteen、Deep Purple、Rainbow、Dio。2000年3月第二張專輯”Heart Of Steel”發行，於全世界獲得良好的銷售成績，並被釵h重金屬雜誌所報導，2001年3月第三張作品"Dragonchaser"發表，並展開全球巡回演唱，這時他們在日本和歐洲已經有了相當高的知名度。2002年底發表精選輯"Early Works–Centers"。2002年他們更換東家，加入了德國金屬名廠AFM，於4月發行了第五張專輯”Only Human”，同時主唱Oliver也出席由Edguy團長Tobias Sammet所統籌的金屬歌劇Avantasia I & II，和Empty Tremor團長Daniele Liverani所編導的搖滾歌劇GENIUS Rock Opera Episode I & II。之後Oliver Hartmann受邀加入意大利金屬名團Empty Tremor，遺缺由前Yngwie Malmsteen主唱Mats Leven替補，貝斯手更換為John A B C Smith (Ex-Gallows Pole; Ex-Scanner)鼓手更換為Jacky Voutay。 At Vance於2003年底發表最新專輯"The Evil In You"，專輯全長66分鍾，包含14首精采佳作 Fallen Angel、Broken Vow、The Evil in You、Stronger than You Think、The Curtain Will Fall、. One Million Miles、Right or Wrong、Shining Star、Streets of My Dreams、Caprice No. 16、Princess of Ice、Angel of The Dark、You Will Never Take My Soul、N.O.W。

德國的金屬樂團一向兼具旋律性和速度感，At Vance不但擁有上述優點，更添加了巴洛克的古典風味，和聲小調音階和多利安音階巧妙的運用在他們的音樂裏，讓”艾凡斯”擁有自己的風格，本專輯是所有喜愛旋律金屬和新古典金屬樂迷們的必聽之作。
